Pope Francis has condemned Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon, which led to the death of Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and non-combatants, labelling such actions as 'beyond morality.' The pontiff's comments came during his flight back to Rome from Belgium.

Addressing journalists, the Pope stressed that countries should not overextend the use of their military forces. 'Even in war there is a morality to safeguard,' he said.

He added that while war itself is immoral, there are rules that impart a degree of morality upon it.
