Pir Umar Jan Sirhindi, the chief of the Sindh chapter of the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), has received protective bail from the provincial high court in a case linked to the staged killing of Dr. Shahnawaz Kunbhar on blasphemy charges.

Dr. Shahnawaz Kunbhar, accused of blasphemy on social media, was killed during an alleged gun battle with police in Mirpurkhas. The incident has led to widespread criticism from human and civil rights organizations. Sirhindi and senior police officials have been booked in the case following a complaint by Kunbhar's brother-in-law, Ibrahim.

Sirhindi is accused of inciting a mob, resulting in the burning of Kunbhar's body. Additionally, he faces allegations of involvement in the abduction of Hindu girls for forced conversions. Sirhindi asserts he mitigated property damage during protests and calls for an impartial investigation have been echoed by religious leaders, warning the government against discrediting them through false accusations.
