On Tuesday, NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar alongside his MP daughter, Supriya Sule, visited the Bopdev Ghat near Pune. The visit follows an incident on October 3 in which a 21-year-old woman was reportedly raped by three individuals.

Sule criticized the ongoing investigation for its sluggish pace, pointing out that despite efforts by Pune Police and their rural counterparts, the suspects remain at large. She emphasized that this marks a significant concern, indicating a lack of adequate police presence and ineffective state recruitment policies.

Meanwhile, over 60 police teams have been deployed to capture the suspects, with a reward of Rs 10 lakh announced. Sule also participated in protests addressing broader issues of women's safety and financial mismanagement in Maharashtra, underlining the dire economic situation and looming contractor protests over unpaid dues.
