In a significant breakthrough, Gurugram Police have detained two individuals, one being a deputy manager at Punjab National Bank, for orchestrating a Rs 1.20-crore cyber fraud that targeted unsuspecting investors with stock market promises.

The Cyber Police Station in Manesar initiated the investigation following a complaint from a man who claimed he was cheated out of Rs 1.20 crore. A total of eight people have been apprehended in connection with this sophisticated scam.

The duo, identified as Rohit Sharma and Vishwas Kumar, both hailing from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested after detailed investigations. Vishwas Kumar's role at PNB was a critical link, while the fraudulent account was set up by Rohit Sharma. Authorities continue to interrogate the suspects.
