In a strategic move to bolster its international trade portfolio, Peru is set to finalize a free trade agreement with India by 2025. The announcement was made by Peruvian Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism, Ursula Leon.
This prospective agreement marks Peru's efforts to expand its trade reach to include the two most populous nations globally. Peru has been fostering trade relations with China since 2009 and aims to replicate this with India.
Additionally, Peru is in discussions to establish a similar agreement with Indonesia, signifying its ambition to strengthen trade ties across Asia. These moves are expected to open new economic opportunities for Peru in the international market.
