China's foreign ministry has called on all parties involved in the ongoing Gulf conflict to ensure a stable and unimpeded oil supply. The call comes as the United States mulls over lifting sanctions on some Iranian oil exports.
Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian made the statement without specifying any countries, emphasizing the importance of stability in oil supply.
This follows comments from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who suggested on Thursday that the U.S. might consider removing sanctions on Iranian oil currently stuck on tankers at sea as a strategy to prevent rising oil prices.
