A local court has delivered a death sentence to Sathish, a man found guilty of murdering a young woman by pushing her in front of a train. The sentence was pronounced on Monday for the 2022 incident that shocked the community.

The tragic event involved the victim, Sathya, a 20-year-old college student who was pushed onto the tracks at the St Thomas Railway station. She was instantly killed after being struck by a moving suburban train, according to a release from the CB-CID.

The case was initially handled by local police but later escalated to the CB-CID for further investigation. On Monday, the Mahila Court concluded the proceedings under IPC 302, with a death sentence and a fine levied on Sathish, along with a Rs 10 lakh compensation for the victim's family.
