In a determined move, police have embarked on a special campaign under the Sarai Act to verify the legitimacy of hotels and lodges, ensuring they have proper registration and licenses. This initiative is geared towards thwarting unauthorized dance parties and ceremonies during New Year's Eve celebrations.

Commissioner of Police Ajay Kumar Mishra emphasized that strict action will be taken against those organizing parties without proper authorization, aiming to maintain order and compliance with existing regulations.

An extensive sweep revealed that 56 out of 122 inspected hotels in one area were operating without licenses, leading to their immediate sealing. Similarly, in rural zones, officers checked 108 establishments, where they discovered 54 were non-compliant, prompting further actions by the district administration.
