High drama unfolded at the Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau on Monday when BRS Working President K T Rama Rao, summoned in connection with the Formula E race case, was denied his lawyer's company. Rao issued his statement outside the office, sparking concerns over potential manipulation of his statements.
KTR, arriving at the ACB headquarters around 10 am, was barred from entering by police due to his lawyer's presence. Choosing to cooperate with authorities, KTR handed over a written statement to an ACB officer outside the premises before leaving.
Rama Rao insisted on legal representation, highlighting incidents of prior misattribution of statements by authorities. Asserting his rights, he expressed willingness to provide necessary information, provided he could have his lawyer present, to prevent manipulation akin to previous issues faced by BRS members.
