The Tamil Nadu BJP has called upon the DMK regime to withdraw police charges against a senior party official. This demand is tied to the official's request for a quality audit of the ghee supplied to the Palani Dhandayuthapani Swamy temple, following concerns related to the Tirupati laddu controversy.

Narayanan Thirupathy, a BJP leader, highlighted the arrest of Rajasekaran, linked to AR Dairy, in relation to the adulteration of Tirupati laddu. Citing this arrest, Thirupathy noted that Selvakumar, vice-president of BJP's industry wing, had previously raised concerns about Rajasekaran's role as a trustee of the Palani temple, warranting a quality check for the ghee supplied there.

The arrest has fueled political tensions, with accusations of harassment against Selvakumar and his family, and claims that the DMK government is stifling freedom of expression. The Tamil Nadu government, however, maintains that ghee for the temple is supplied by state-run Aavin, warning against spreading rumors. The BJP insists on withdrawing the case, threatening court intervention for justice.
