The Congress-led United Democratic Front (UDF) has ignited a dawn-to-dusk hartal in Kerala's high range district, protesting against recent lethal attacks by wild animals.
Activists were prominently displayed on television, obstructing various district roads. Law enforcement swiftly intervened, arresting and relocating the protesters.
The hartal follows the tragic death of Balakrishnan, a member of the tribal community, in a wild elephant attack. The UDF claims the state government has failed to implement safety measures, as essential services and travel for exams, weddings, and religious events continue during the protest.
