On Thursday, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher articulated a persistent demand for the Centre to address pressing farmers' issues, including a legal guarantee for the Minimum Support Price (MSP), during an impending meeting on Friday.
The appeal follows several inconclusive meetings dating back to February last year. Pandher, addressing media at the Shambhu border, highlighted efforts to sway government decision-makers in favor of farmer demands. Also present was Abhimanyu Kohar, who mentioned Jagjit Singh Dallewal's efforts to partake in talks despite ongoing hunger strike-related health issues.
Meanwhile, Union Agriculture Ministry officials have extended invitations for further discussions in Chandigarh. Farmers demand reforms encompassing MSP guarantees, debt waivers, pension plans, and compensation for erstwhile agitations. They remain stationed at state border points, advocating for their cause.
