The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with Doordarshan and WAVES, proudly presents the Battle of Bands International—a groundbreaking competition inviting extraordinary musical talent from across the globe to compete in Mumbai, India.

A Global Musical Showdown

Following the resounding success of Battle of Bands India, WAVES 2025 is set to elevate the competition to an international level. The event will host TOP 13 international bands, who will be selected through a meticulous screening process, and they will be welcomed by India’s Top 5 bands from Battle of Bands India. This contest is open to musical groups worldwide who can perform in Hindi, Bollywood, Classical, and Folk music genres.

The final round will feature the Top 5 international bands competing against Top 5 Indian bands, providing an unprecedented opportunity for artists to showcase their musical prowess on a world-class platform.

From National Triumph to International Glory

The previous edition of Battle of Bands India saw fierce competition, with Top 26 Bands battling through weekly challenges featuring Bollywood, Originals, Classical, Folk, and Lyric Change themes. The grand finale crowned THE VAIRAGIES as the champion, while SUFI ROCKERS and SOULS OF SUFI X GAURANSH claimed the first and second runner-up spots. MH43 and SHIVOHAM also secured their positions in the Top 5.

Now, the international edition promises to raise the stakes even higher, fostering innovation, cultural exchange, and musical excellence.

WAVES 2025 is produced by SAREGAMA, helmed by veteran show director Shruti Anindita Vermaa and hosted by the charismatic Kettan Singh. The panel of esteemed judges includes renowned artists Raja Hasan & Shraddha Pandit, while Indian mentors of international repute—such as Tonny Kakkar, Shruti Pathak, Radhika Chopra, and Amitabh Vermaa—will guide contestants through their musical journey.

How to Participate?

Bands (maximum of 5 members, including a vocalist) must submit an original audio-visual performance via the official Doordarshan website under the “Waves India” section.

Video Submission Guidelines:

• Video duration: Maximum 2 minutes
• Format: MP4, max size 300MB
• Content: Original composition blending modern and traditional folk elements

Registration Process:

1. Visit the official Doordarshan website and navigate to Battle of Bands under the WAVES India section.
2. Fill out the registration form with details, including Band Name, City, Contact Info, Band Members, Social Media Links, and Performance Link.
3. Ensure compliance with submission guidelines—non-compliance leads to disqualification.

By participating, bands agree to promotional use of their submissions for event marketing and waive privacy rights.
