Alexander Vinnik, a Russian national recently freed by U.S. authorities as part of a prisoner exchange, has landed in Moscow, according to the state news agency RIA.
Vinnik, who admitted to a conspiracy to commit money laundering in May 2024, expressed gratitude upon his arrival home. Contrary to earlier reports by his lawyer, Vinnik mentioned that his journey involved a stop in Poland rather than Turkey.
He extended his thanks to Russian President Vladimir Putin and other officials for their support, as well as to U.S. President Donald Trump. TASS reported that a U.S. Air Force aircraft departed Vnukovo shortly after his arrival, heading west.
