Union minister Pralhad Joshi arrived to engage in discussions with farmers' representatives concerning their numerous demands, such as securing a legal guarantee for minimum support prices (MSP) on crops.

The meeting is a response to a lengthy protest by farmers advocating for legal assurances around MSP, among other issues. Joshi, representing consumer affairs and public distribution, led the meeting with a central delegation attended by members from the Samyukta Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha.

Jagjit Singh Dallewal, a prominent farmer leader on an indefinite fast, was also present at the discussions. He was transported to the meeting in an ambulance from the protest site. Farmers continue to demand MSP legal guarantees, alongside other key issues like debt waivers, pensions, and justice for past violence victims.
