Delhi police have successfully dismantled a fraudulent call centre operating out of a rented house in Badarpur. This operation culminated in the arrest of eight suspects involved in a sophisticated loan scam. The discovery came after a complaint was filed by an individual duped of Rs 18,000.
According to reports, one of the accused posed as an Axis Bank official, misleading victims into believing they were paying filing charges for loan approvals. The ensuing investigation led police to the illicit call centre, uncovering a network of deceit.
Among the arrested, six are women. Authorities recovered 25 mobile phones and wifi dongles used in the scam. During questioning, the accused admitted to committing fraud by promising loans in exchange for money transfers. Further probing into the case continues as police work to dismantle the network.
