Mehbooba Mufti, president of the People's Democratic Party, has voiced concern over the continued dismissal of government employees in Jammu and Kashmir, criticizing it as arbitrary even after a new government took office.

Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, leveraging Article 311 (2) (c) of the Constitution, terminated three employees' services, citing terror-link allegations backed by law enforcement and intelligence findings.

Mufti highlighted that despite promises from the elected National Conference government to end these practices, over 70 dismissals on similar charges have occurred since 2019, prompting public disappointment.
