A high-level delegation from the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrived in Delhi on Monday for bilateral talks with their Indian counterparts, the Border Security Force (BSF), officials said. The discussions will focus on pressing issues such as border fencing and attacks on BSF personnel by miscreants from Bangladesh.
The 55th Director General-Level Border Coordination Conference is set to take place at the BSF headquarters on Lodhi Road. Commencing on Tuesday, these talks mark the first top-level meeting between the two countries' border forces since the fall of Sheikh Hasina's government in August last year.
The meeting, led by BSF DG Daljit Singh Chawdhary and BGB DG Maj General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui, aims to address multiple border-related issues, including cooperation on combating trans-border crimes and finalizing the construction of a single-row fence. The conference will conclude with a joint record of discussions signed on February 20.
