Speedy Issuance of PDS Ration Cards in Telangana

Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy has instructed officials to expedite the issuance of new PDS ration cards statewide. During a meeting, Reddy emphasized prompt verification of applications, urging officials to prevent unnecessary reapplications. Distribution will start in districts unaffected by the MLC election model code of conduct.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has urged the swift issuance of new public distribution system ration cards across the state. The directive was issued during a meeting with Civil Supplies Minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy and other officials.

The CM emphasized the need for efficient processing of applications, which have been submitted through various channels including 'Mee Seva' citizen service centres and Gram Sabhas. He stressed that eligible applicants should receive their ration cards without further delay.

Distribution will initially commence in areas not subject to the model code of conduct for the upcoming MLC elections and will expand to other districts thereafter. Officials were also tasked with raising awareness to avoid repeated applications from citizens.
