Anna Hazare Calls for Resignation Amid Scandals

Veteran social activist Anna Hazare has urged ministers facing allegations to resign immediately. This follows opposition demands for the resignations of NCP ministers Dhananjay Munde and Manikrao Kokate. Munde is implicated in a serious case involving abducted sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh, while Kokate received a prison sentence for document forgery.

Veteran social activist Anna Hazare has called for ministers under allegations to step down without delay. Hazare's plea comes at a time when NCP ministers Dhananjay Munde and Manikrao Kokate are being pressed to resign by the opposition.

Munde, the legislator from Parli in Beed, is embroiled in a controversy after his associate, Walmik Karad, was apprehended in connection with an extortion case tied to the kidnapping and murder of sarpanch Santosh Deshmukh on December 9.

Kokate faces legal troubles of his own, having been sentenced by a Nashik court to two years in prison for using fake documents to obtain flats under a government quota in a case dating back to 1995. Echoing a call for accountability, Hazare stated that ministers under suspicion should not cling to their positions.
