In a significant policy shift, Chhattisgarh has implemented a pivotal law permitting shops to function round-the-clock, contingent on providing weekly offs for employees and allowing women to work night shifts under stringent safety protocols.
This regulatory overhaul, which applies to establishments with more than ten workers, also revises registration fees significantly and mandates online submissions of employee records.
Expected to invigorate the small business sector by escalating operational flexibility, the law excludes liquor shops from its ambit, aligning with the government's broader ease-of-business strategies.
