BJP leader P C George has sought an extension until February 24 to appear before Kerala police regarding a hate speech investigation. In a letter to the Deputy Superintendent of Police in Pala, George cited health issues for his delay.

The Kerala High Court recently denied George's anticipatory bail plea, emphasizing that granting bail would send an incorrect message to society. The accusations against George stem from remarks made during a television discussion against a minority community.

Following a complaint filed by Muhamed Shihab, a Muslim Youth League leader, George is charged under sections 196(1)(a) and 299 of the BNS, along with section 120(o) of the Kerala Police Act for potentially inciting religious hatred.
