Fake ED Officer's Deception Uncovered

A man named Ravi Raj was arrested for impersonating an Enforcement Directorate official to help a businessman recover Rs 25 lakh from a Gurugram resident. The businessman promised Raj a Rs 4 lakh commission. Raj intimidated the debtor using false identities until he returned the money.

A man posing as an Enforcement Directorate (ED) official successfully assisted a businessman in reclaiming Rs 25 lakh from a resident of Gurugram. The Gurugram police made the announcement on Saturday, following the arrest of the accused, Ravi Raj, from his hometown in Nalanda, Bihar.

During the investigation, Ravi Raj disclosed that the complainant, residing in Gurugram, had not repaid a debt of Rs 25 lakh to the owner of a decorator company. The decorator's owner, desperate to retrieve his money, encountered Raj who boasted of influential connections within the ED. For a commission of Rs 4 lakh, Raj ostensibly secured the businessman's monetary recovery.

Raj employed deceitful tactics, impersonating the ED director and their personal assistant through multiple phone lines to coerce the debtor. Eventually, he retrieved the money and claimed his promised commission. The incident was formally reported at Gurugram's Sector 10 Police Station last November, leading to his recent capture in Bihar.
