An incident at a Maharashtra court led to a registered case against a 45-year-old undertrial prisoner and his relatives, authorities reported Sunday.

The altercation occurred in Thane district when the prisoner, attending a scheduled hearing, verbally assaulted police officials. The accused became agitated when asked to keep a washroom door open.

Escorted back to jail, he called family members present to attack the police, escalating tensions. Further complaints were filed for using obscene language against a female officer, resulting in a formal case against him and three family members.
