The Delhi High Court has urged the Patiala House Court to expedite its decision on the bail plea of jailed Jammu & Kashmir MP Abdul Rashid Sheikh, also known as Engineer Rashid, in connection to a terror funding case.
Justice Vikas Mahajan emphasized the need for quick disposal of Rashid's application, as the NIA court had left his bail request unresolved after he assumed office as an MP.
Accused of financing separatists in Kashmir, Rashid has been in Tihar Jail since 2019 after his arrest in 2017 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act. His request for relief was concluded when his counsel withdrew the petition following clarification from the High Court.
