Government Extends Package for Kashmiri Employees

The government has extended incentives for Central employees in Kashmir for three more years, allowing family relocation at government expense and providing allowances for those staying. The package covers all ministries and departments, ensuring adherence to prescribed rates and includes additional benefits for pensioners outside the Valley.

The Indian government has announced an extension of the concessions and incentives package for its Central employees stationed in the Kashmir Valley for another three years, beginning August 1, 2024. This move covers individuals across various ministries and public sector units.

Employees have the option to relocate their families to preferred locations in India at government expense, availing a composite transfer grant. However, those choosing not to relocate will receive a per diem allowance for daily commute expenses. The package also includes a daily messing allowance similar to those given to Central Armed Police Forces personnel.

Pensioners in the Valley unable to collect their pensions locally will be accommodated through disbursements outside the region. The decision aims to address logistical challenges while ensuring continued incentives for those serving in the region.
