The Joint Action Council of Tamil Nadu Teachers Organisations-Government Employees Organisation (JACTO-GEO) members organized protests in district headquarters across Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. Their main demand is the revival of the old pension scheme.

In Chennai, demonstrators gathered at the Ezhilagam complex, advocating for their charter of 10 demands. These include the surrender of leave encashment facilities, filling vacancies in government departments, and including contract workers under the periodic pay system.

The protest unfolded after discussions between JACTO-GEO leaders and state government officials on February 24 ended without resolution, prompting the members to take to the streets for their cause.
