A missing student from Mangaluru, Diganth, resurfaced in Udupi after eluding family and authorities since February 25. The Dakshina Kannada police clarified at a recent press conference that, initially reported as abducted, Diganth had left voluntarily, feeling unprepared for his impending exams.

Diganth embarked on a journey with just Rs 500, walking and hitchhiking across various cities including Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Mysuru, and Bengaluru. His escapade led him to a resort in Nandi Hills for temporary work before eventually returning to Mysuru and heading to Udupi.

Out of funds, Diganth's attempt to purchase necessities caught the attention of shopkeepers who informed the police. He was subsequently placed in a children's home. His parents, pursuing a habeas corpus petition, await further legal proceedings, as the matter remains before the Karnataka High Court.
