Andhra Pradesh Seeks Public Donations for New District Offices

The Andhra Pradesh government, experiencing fiscal stress, plans to request public donations to build collectorates and revenue divisional offices in newly created districts. Revenue Minister A Satya Kumar criticized the previous government's district division approach and emphasized efforts to address and rectify past administrative issues.

In a recent announcement made in the Assembly, Andhra Pradesh Revenue Minister A Satya Kumar revealed plans to seek public donations for the construction of collectorates and revenue divisional offices in new districts. This decision comes as the state grapples with financial constraints.

Kumar criticized the previous government's division of districts into 23 smaller ones in 2022, claiming it was unscientific and aimed at diverting public attention from various protests. He assured that the current administration is working to correct these past flaws.

The Minister also accused the previous regime of prioritizing party offices over essential government infrastructure. Efforts are now underway to develop methods for efficiently procuring and utilizing donations to build necessary offices, including tehsildar offices where needed.
