Delhi Police arrested a notorious contract killer who was hired to settle a property dispute but mistakenly assaulted a bystander, officials said on Monday.

Jaibir Shokeen of Najafgarh, on the run for an attempted murder case in Palam, fell into police custody following a tip-off. He had been declared a proclaimed offender.

The botched hit stemmed from a dispute between Narender and his neighbor Amit. Shokeen's group attacked an innocent, Ritesh, at Palam station last September. Shokeen confessed after his capture, revealing links to multiple crimes, including attempted murder.
