Police authorities are intensifying security measures in Hampi following a recent tragedy involving two women, one of whom was a 27-year-old Israeli tourist, and a homestay operator. The women were allegedly gang-raped near the UNESCO World Heritage Site, causing international concern.
In response, the Koppal Superintendent, Ram L Arasiddi, announced increased highway patrols and mandatory installation of CCTV cameras in local accommodations. Meetings with homestay, resort, and hotel owners focused on enforcing security protocols for tourists, especially international visitors.
