Kerala Revenue Minister K Rajan declared on Monday that the state government would implement uncompromising actions against illegal land encroachers. This announcement was made during the Kerala Assembly's discussion on grant demands, highlighting encroachment issues in Parunthumpara, Idukki district.

The government has imposed a two-month prohibitory order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and delegated 15 revenue officials, excluding those from Peermade taluk, to execute stringent measures, including evacuations in the area.

Simultaneously, the Idukki District Collector has initiated legal proceedings against seven individuals while asserting that all means, encompassing police and vigilance, will expose those manipulating ordinary people amid significant encroachments. The tourism sector remains a key focus, with actions taking place to thwart any disruptions due to land conflicts.
