Dutch marine provider Boskalis has been tasked with salvaging the U.S.-flagged tanker Stena Immaculate, which was struck by a container ship off the coast of northeast England on Monday. Confirmation came from Boskalis' spokesperson, aligning with earlier reports from Dutch media.

The spokesperson did not provide a specific timeline for the salvage operation but noted that four vessels equipped with foam and extinguishing agents are en route to combat the fire resultant from the collision.

The collision also involved the smaller container ship Solong, which has led to fuel leakage into the sea. Another yet-to-be-named company will manage the salvage of Solong. Sources confirmed there is no sign of malicious activity linked to the incident.
