Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced the formation of a committee to incorporate diverse religious views before finalizing the rules of the Arunachal Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act, 1978.

Addressing the Assembly's concern, he emphasized avoiding hasty decisions in drafting the rules as directed by the Gauhati High Court, following a PIL.

Khandu stressed the Act's neutrality on religious issues and committed to seeking judicial extensions for comprehensive consultations, with assurances to not discriminate against any faith.
