Israel and Lebanon: Border Talks and Humanitarian Gestures

Israel agreed to talks with Lebanon to demarcate their border and will release five Lebanese detainees as a gesture. Israel announced its agreement to commence discussions with Lebanon to determine their shared border, alongside a pledge to release five Lebanese detainees as a goodwill gesture towards the Lebanese president.

The Prime Minister's office confirmed the collaboration with Lebanon, the U.S., and France in setting up working groups dedicated to resolving the demarcation line. Lebanese reports noted the released detainees' arrival in Tyre.

U.S. Deputy Presidential Special Envoy Morgan Ortagus emphasized the commitment to ceasefire adherence while orchestrating these diplomatic efforts. Despite a previous ceasefire withdrawal, tensions persist with Israel maintaining military positions due to Hezbollah activities.
