Chhattisgarh's New Policy Offers Hope for Peace and Rehabilitation

Additionally, a probe into corruption in the Bharatmala road project was ordered, alongside water resource management initiatives.

In a significant move to address the longstanding issue of Naxalism in the state, the Chhattisgarh government has rolled out a new rehabilitation policy targeting surrendered Naxalites. The policy guarantees financial support, educational opportunities, and employment to aid their reintegration into society, as confirmed by officials on Wednesday.
During the cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the focus was also on corruption allegations related to the Bharatmala road project. The state police's Economic Offence Wing has been tasked with investigating these claims, marking a step towards transparent governance in Chhattisgarh.
Further measures include the establishment of the State Water Informatics Centre for improved water resource management. By partnering with the Union Ministry of Jal Shakti, the state aims to enhance its data collection and planning strategies, paving the way for sustainable development.
