Gurugram Police Bolsters Security Measures for Holi
To ensure safety and maintain order during Holi celebrations, Gurugram Police have established 62 checkpoints and deployed 72 Police ERVs and 135 Police Rider teams. The Gurugram Police have ramped up security measures with 62 additional checkpoints in response to the Holi festivities, ensuring both law and order are maintained. Officials reported the deployment of 72 Police ERVs and 135 Police Riders teams to facilitate rapid response.
In a coordinated effort across four police zones—East, West, South, and Manesar—37 checkpoints are designated for general duty and 25 specifically for traffic control. More than 100 officers will monitor key areas, addressing violations such as triple riding on two-wheelers, driving without helmets, and drunk driving, according to a police spokesperson.
The police will enact strict penalties on those causing disturbances. Social media channels will be closely monitored, with legal actions against hate or inflammatory content. Additional forces are stationed in busy locales including cinema halls, malls, and transport hubs, adhering to heightened security protocols, the official added.
