President Approves FIR Against Delhi Leaders in School Construction Scam
President Droupadi Murmu approved an FIR against AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain over a Rs 1,300 crore scam in constructing classrooms. President Droupadi Murmu has sanctioned the initiation of an FIR against prominent AAP figures Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, according to sources. This action is linked to a scandal involving the alleged misuse of Rs 1,300 crore earmarked for classroom construction in Delhi schools.
In 2022, the vigilance directorate of the Delhi government had advocated for an investigation into the allegations, culminating in a detailed report submitted to the chief secretary.
The Central Vigilance Commission's findings, dated February 17, 2020, pointed out significant discrepancies in the work carried out by the Public Works Department on more than 2,400 new classrooms for government schools in Delhi.
