Social activist Anjali Damania has demanded the inclusion of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Dhananjay Munde as an accused in the murder case of Santosh Deshmukh, the sarpanch of Massajog village in Beed district.
Deshmukh was allegedly abducted, tortured, and killed on December 9 for his attempts to halt an extortion bid targeting an energy firm. Among those apprehended is Walmik Karad, a close associate of Munde.
Damania alleges that Munde 'guided' the arrested individuals and suggested that a thorough examination of their phones could implicate him further. Currently, eight people have been detained and booked under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). Krishna Andhale remains at large in connection with the case.
