The Gujarat Vigilance Commission (GVC) has disclosed in its 60th annual report that it received 11,196 complaints in 2023, highlighting potentially rampant corruption among state officials.
The GVC, an independent entity, investigates bribery and misconduct, noted that 1,108 complaints were dismissed due to inadequate details or anonymity.
Significantly, the Urban Development department topped complaints with 2,170 cases. The commission has urged stern actions, advocating for FIRs against 24 employees while recommending disciplinary measures and pension cuts for others.
