Tensions along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district escalated for the second day as Pakistani troops engaged in cross-border shelling. This follows an Indian military operation targeting terror infrastructures, known as 'Operation Sindoor'.
The Pakistani shelling targeted civilian areas in the Karnah region, with reports of mortars being fired after midnight. Indian forces responded effectively to the unprovoked attack.
Despite the exchange of fire, there have been no reported casualties so far. Many civilians in Karnah had already evacuated to safer locations following initial shelling by Pakistani troops, which came in response to India's military maneuvers.
