Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik has endorsed the Waqf Amendment Act 2025 as a transformative initiative aimed at uplifting underprivileged sections. During the Waqf reform awareness meet, he stressed the act's role in redistributing benefits and revenues from Waqf properties to ensure equity and empowerment.
Addressing community leaders and representatives from various faiths, Parnaik highlighted the extensive consultations that shaped the act, emphasizing its foundation in collective effort and national unity. He urged the Muslim community to recognize their valuable contributions to India's growth, drawing inspiration from figures like A P J Abdul Kalam.
State Indigenous Affairs and Home Minister Mama Natung echoed the sentiments, describing the act as aligned with the national vision of inclusivity and growth, and urged citizens to embrace its positive impact to foster communal harmony in the state and beyond.
