High Stakes in Batla House: Demolitions and Legal Battles

The Delhi High Court has reserved its order concerning the petitions against demolitions in Batla House. The case involves the Delhi Development Authority and individual petitioners. Earlier, a petition by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan for relief was dismissed to not compromise individual litigants' cases. Demolitions follow a Supreme Court order.

The Delhi High Court has reserved its decision on the controversial demolitions in the Batla House area, as Justice Tejas Karia heard arguments presented by the Delhi Development Authority and affected petitioners.

Previously, on June 11, the court dismissed a public interest litigation filed by AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan. His case sought to halt the demolitions but was rejected for potentially compromising individual litigants' chances.

This legal action follows a directive from the Supreme Court dated May 7, which ordered the demolition of unauthorized structures on designated land in Okhla village.
