In a tragic incident near Shahpur Ghata, a 20-year-old youth named Aryan was shot dead by three unidentified gunmen on motorcycles, police reported Thursday. The assailants targeted Aryan as he was traveling with his relative, Naveen Kumar, who is 27 years old.

The event unfolded on Wednesday when the duo, after purchasing garments for their shop in Ludhiana, had to make an abrupt stop due to Naveen feeling unwell. According to Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Hoshiarpur, the masked assailants seized the opportunity and fired at Aryan, hitting him fatally on the head and chest.

Despite the immediacy of the medical response, Aryan succumbed to his injuries at the scene. An FIR has been registered at the Garhshankar Police Station, where further investigations are ongoing, in pursuit of the perpetrators who swiftly fled post-attack.
