Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah inaugurated 'Raabta,' an outreach office in Jammu on Friday, to enhance grievance redressal and promote data-driven governance. This initiative aims to foster seamless interaction between the government and citizens, promoting a responsive governance model.

Derived from Urdu, 'Raabta' signifies a connection, and this new office is the second of its kind in the region, with the first launched in Srinagar in November 2022. Accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary, Abdullah emphasized the office's role in offering citizens a platform to address their concerns efficiently.

The new facility allows citizens to submit grievances both online and offline, ensuring timely resolution. Abdullah vowed to strengthen grassroots connections and address delays inherent in government procedures. This move comes amidst political concerns over reservations in recruitment, with Abdullah defending his cabinet's reported progress on the issue.
