A horrifying incident has emerged from Maharashtra's Sangli district, where a 16-year-old girl met a tragic fate at the hands of her own father for failing to score high marks in a test. The disturbing event unfolded on Saturday night in Nelkaranji village, Atpadi tehsil.
The accused, 45-year-old school teacher Dhondiram Bhosale, reportedly bludgeoned his daughter, Sadhana, using the wooden handle of a stone grinder. The attack took place in the presence of the girl's mother and brother. Sadhana, a Class 12 student, was rushed to a hospital but succumbed to her injuries.
Police have since apprehended Bhosale following a formal complaint lodged by the girl's mother. Senior Inspector Vinay Bahir of Atpadi police station confirmed that multiple injuries were the cause of death according to the post-mortem report.
