Tensions flared in Pokaran, Rajasthan, leading to the arrest of 13 individuals after an objectionable social media post regarding International Yoga Day surfaced, police reported Monday.
A man was detained for the contentious post early Sunday evening, causing a large crowd to gather at Pokaran Police Station, disrupting public order, according to officials.
Superintendent of Police Sudhir Chaudhary identified Firoz Khan, spouse of a local sarpanch, as the protest leader. He and five others were charged with obstructing government operations, with additional arrests made for disturbing peace. Officials assure the situation is now stable, while investigations to capture more suspects continue.
