Dr. Patel, leveraging his medical acumen, assisted authorities at the Ahmedabad Civil Hospital in tagging bodies that arrived for post-mortem. The intense heat of the crash rendered traditional identification methods futile, with temperatures exceeding 1000 degrees Celsius.

With characteristics noted and DNA samples collected, Patel aided families in their heartbreaking quest for closure. As of last week, 251 of the 270 victims had been identified through DNA tests, with 245 bodies handed over to their kin, offering a semblance of solace to those affected.
