In a transformative step aimed at digitally empowering India’s youth and aligning them with the nation’s development journey, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Digital India Corporation (DIC) on July 1, 2025, in New Delhi. The agreement marks the official commencement of MY Bharat 2.0, a technologically advanced, youth-centric digital platform under the Digital India initiative.
The signing ceremony took place in the presence of Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports and Labour & Employment, and Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, Union Minister of Electronics & Information Technology, Railways, and Information & Broadcasting. This collaborative effort aims to elevate the existing MY Bharat platform into a comprehensive national digital gateway for youth engagement, skill-building, civic participation, and career development.
From MY Bharat to MY Bharat 2.0: A New Era of Youth Engagement
Originally launched on 31 October 2023 by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, MY Bharat was envisioned as a one-stop solution for structured youth development. As of July 2025, the platform boasts over 1.76 crore registered youth users and more than 1.19 lakh affiliated organizations.
With the new MoU, the platform now enters its next phase of evolution — MY Bharat 2.0 — introducing state-of-the-art features, AI-driven tools, and deep integration with national digital infrastructure to cater to the aspirations of India’s Amrit Peedhi (youth generation) on the road to Viksit Bharat by 2047.

To enhance accessibility, MY Bharat 2.0 will feature speech-to-text capabilities and voice-assisted navigation, making it easier for youth from diverse backgrounds to engage. A dedicated call center, training modules, MIS dashboards, and cloud infrastructure will support the platform’s operations.
AI and Innovation at the Core
In line with India’s burgeoning AI ecosystem, the platform will include:

This intelligent ecosystem aims to offer a smart, seamless, and secure experience that is inclusive of youth from urban metros to remote villages.
Enabling Civic Participation and Career Growth
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya emphasized that MY Bharat 2.0 is not merely a platform but a movement that echoes the Prime Minister’s vision of transforming youth energy into nation-building capacity. He said, “This digital ecosystem offers direction, purpose, and opportunity, anchored in the ethos of Seva Bhav (spirit of service).”
Dedicated sections within the platform will promote:
-
National Career Services – connecting youth with employment opportunities
-
Mentorship Hub – enabling guidance from experts across fields
-
Fit India Movement – integrating health and wellness into youth development
These features aim to foster a holistic, purpose-driven growth journey for every user.
Building Confidence Through Technology
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw underscored how the past decade under Prime Minister Modi has transformed opportunities for youth in education, technology, sports, and innovation. He cited milestones such as:
-
Over 240 universities now have ISM-enabled chip design platforms
-
India’s AI Mission has deployed 34,000 GPUs, with 6,000 more to follow
-
Global Capability Centres (GCCs) have already employed 15 lakh youth, with plans to expand to Tier-2 cities
“This digital-first youth engagement is aligned with our national mission to make India a global technology leader,” said Vaishnaw. “MY Bharat 2.0 is a key milestone as we celebrate 10 years of Digital India.”
Institutional Collaboration and Future Vision
The upgradation of MY Bharat has been steered by the Department of Youth Affairs (DoYA) and developed by the Digital India Corporation (DIC) under the Ministry of Electronics & IT. It represents a strategic fusion of governance, technology, and youth energy, designed to convert India’s demographic dividend into developmental gains.
Senior officials from both ministries, including Secretaries and policy experts, were present at the MoU signing ceremony, reflecting the government’s high-level commitment to youth empowerment.
Toward Viksit Bharat 2047
By enabling millions of young citizens to digitally participate in volunteering, skill-building, mentoring, and public service, MY Bharat 2.0 is poised to become a critical instrument in India’s development roadmap. Its inclusive design ensures that rural, urban, differently-abled, and marginalized youth are equally empowered through technology.
As India marches toward its centenary of independence, this ambitious upgrade represents a bold stride toward building a self-reliant, digitally empowered, and socially engaged youth population — the very foundation of Viksit Bharat by 2047.
