A 17-year-old girl travelling with friends to Pandharpur was sexually assaulted, and three accompanying women were robbed after their car halted on the roadside in Pune's Daund town early Monday morning, police revealed.

Authorities released a sketch of one suspect based on witness descriptions and requested public assistance to track down the offenders. The assault happened near Bhigwan when the vehicle's driver stopped to answer nature's call.

The attackers wielded sharp weapons, demanding jewellery from the women before one assailant took the minor outside the car to commit the assault. The suspects then fled on a motorbike, leaving witnesses and an elderly stall owner unable to provide full details. Citizens are urged to assist by contacting police with any information.
